Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) President and Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir is an architect of the modern gold industry in the country.
This was said by Dr Dilip Kumar Roy, former President of BAJUS and Chairman of the Standing Committee on District Monitoring.
He was addressing a view exchange meeting with Gazipur district unit leaders of the organisation at BAJUS central office at Bashundhara City Shopping Complex in the capital on Thursday.About feedback from initiatives taken by the organisation under the presidency of Sayem Sobhan Anvir, he said jewellery owners across the country are being united under an umbrella and the administration is extending assistance to them in necessary cases.
Law enforcers are sincere to arrest robbers and dacoits apart from recovering the lost ornaments, he said.
If the situation continues, the country’s gold industry will reach a new height, he added.
A 27-member committee for Gazipur with assistant secretary Samit Ghosh Apu as convener has been constituted. The body will collect new members, hold elections and hand over responsibility to newly-elected office bearers.
