A shadow parliamentary debate show on the jewellery industry is scheduled to be aired by ATN Bangla on Friday.

Debate for Democracy (DFD) organises the show focusing on the role of public and private entities to flourish the jewellery industry, said a press release on Thursday.

Dhaka College team won the debate encountering the BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology team with logical words.

A jury panel comprising Dr SM Morshed, journalists Alamgir Hossain and Ruhul Amin Rasel, Kaberi Maitraya and Refayet Ullah Mridha judged the competition.

In his speech, Dr Ahsan H Mansur mentioned that the jewellers are not involved in gold smuggling.

"The customs authority should investigate further to dig out the perpetrators of gold smuggling. An economic zone for the gold industry should be established," he said.
