Jewellers dropped the price of gold by Tk 1,750 to Tk 1,10,691 per bhori (11.664 grams) on Thursday, a day after the announcement of a price hike for precious metals.

Earlier, on Wednesday, the trade body increased the gold price.

The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 7,765 a gram, while that of traditional gold is at Tk 6,470 a gram. The rate will come into effect on Friday, added the release.

Now, the price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram, Tk172 for 21-carat silver, Tk147 for 18-carat silver, and Tk110 for traditional silver.
