Bashundhara Eye Hospital offers special discount

Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute (BEHRI), an ophthalmic venture of the country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, has offered treatment and examinations at concessionary prices in observance of World Sight Day 2022.

The patients can enjoy a 50 per cent discount on consultation fees of physicians and a 25 per cent discount on all kinds of medical examination.

Like other organisations at home and abroad, Bashundhara Eye Hospital is observing World Sight Day with the theme “Love Your Eyes” through various programmes.

Led by BEHRI Director Prof Dr Md Saleh Ahmed, doctors and staff of the hospital brought out a rally on Thursday morning to mark the day. Starting from the hospital premises at Sabrina Sobhan Road in Block- D of the Bashundhara Residential Area in Dhaka, they paraded the adjoining areas to boost mass awareness about eye vision.

Aristovision Pharmaceutical Ltd sponsored the rally while BEHRI arranged treatment and test at discount.

Speaking on the occasion, renowned ophthalmologist Prof Dr Md Saleh Ahmed said “The World Health Organisation announced October 13 as the World Sight Day to make people aware of the eye problems amid the growing rate of blindness.”

Talking to journalists, Hospital Manager Mohammad Ahsan Habib said, “We have announced a weeklong special discount. The outdoor patients will be enjoying a 50 per cent discount on doctor consultation fees and a 25 per cent discount on tests till October 19.”

In reply to a query, Manager Mohammad Ahsan Habib said the patients have hailed from the adjoining areas of the Bashundhara R/A and also other places.

It may be mentioned that BEHRI provides poor and helpless people with eye treatment and surgeries for free.  It holds eye camps in various parts of the country throughout the year and treats elderly and insolvent patients free of charge.

The patients diagnosed with cataracts, DCR and Pterygium problems are selected for surgeries. They are taken to the hospital in Dhaka in phases, operated on, given medicines and sent back homes without charging a single penny.
