Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said the third and fourth doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be inoculated from the current week.
He came up with the information while speaking at a press conference on the uses of booster (third and fourth) doses at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday.
The minister said, “We have got 30 lakh doses of vaccines which will be given as third and fourth doses. These vaccines have approval from the World Health Organization and local organizations. The trial run of these vaccines has already been completed. There is no problem found taking these vaccines.”People aged above 18 will get the third dose while chronic patients who have no immunity, pregnant mother and front liners will be given the fourth dose of vaccine, he added.
Maleque also urged the people to maintain social distancing and wear masks to keep everyone’s family safe despite taking the vaccine.
The health minister also claimed they have given corona vaccines of more than 36 crore doses or to 85-90 per cent of people which has become possible by the direct interference of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
