Bangladesh has logged 13 more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

The total dengue death toll this year has risen to 506 setting a new record in the country’s history.  

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), as many as 857 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka city and 1,213 patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka during the period.      

The number of dengue patients reached now 7,825 across the country, said DGHS.

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
