Bangladesh has logged 9 more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning.

The total dengue death toll this year has risen to 537 setting a new record in the country’s history.  

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), as many as 833 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka city and 1,127 patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka during the period.      

So far, the DGHS has recorded 112,184 dengue cases and 103,411 recoveries this year.

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
