The overall number of Covid-19 cases around the world has now crossed 694 million, reports UNB.
According to the latest data, the total Covid-19 case count is 694,499,245, while the death toll reached 6,910,960 on Tuesday morning.
The US has reported 107,992,789 Covid-19 cases so far, while 1,173,422 people have died from the virus in the country — both highest counts globally.India reported a single-day rise of 44 new Covid-19 cases.
Active cases currently stand at 1,502, according to the data updated at 8 am on Saturday.
According to the ministry data, the Covid-19 case tally was recorded at 44,996,963.
France and Germany have registered 40,138,560 and 38,428,685 Covid-19 cases so far, occupying the third and fourth positions in the world number-wise, and 167,642 and 174,352 people have died in the European countries, as per Worldometer.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh reported 21 more Covid-19 cases in 24 hours till Monday.
