Bangladesh has logged seven more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

The total dengue death toll this year has risen to 576 setting a new record in the country’s history. 

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), as many as 899 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka city and 1,468 patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka during the period.        

So far, the DGHS has recorded 121,500 dengue cases and 112,478 recoveries this year.

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
