Bangladesh has logged 21 more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning. 

The total dengue death toll this year has risen to 618 setting a new record in the country’s history.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), as many as 982 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka city and 1,370 patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka during the period.          

So far, the DGHS has recorded 127,694 dengue cases and 118,444 recoveries this year.

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
