Bangladesh has logged 14 more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning.  

The total dengue death toll this year has risen to 671 setting a new record in the country’s history.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), as many as 833 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka city and 1,282 patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka during the period.

The number of dengue patients reached 9,127 across the country, said DGHS.            

So far, the DGHS has recorded 138,022 dengue cases and 128,224 recoveries this year. 

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
