Bangladesh has logged 15 more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning. 

The total dengue death toll this year has risen to 767 setting a new record in the country’s history.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), as many as 823 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka city and 2,121 patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka during the period. 

The number of dengue patients reached 9,988 across the country, said DGHS.           

So far, the DGHS has recorded 157,172 dengue cases and 146,417 recoveries this year.

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
