Bangladesh has logged 17 more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Monday morning.  

The total dengue death toll this year has risen to 839 setting a new record in the country’s history.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), as many as 894 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka city and 2,190 patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka during the period.   

The number of dengue patients reached 10,032 across the country, said DGHS.          

So far, the DGHS has recorded 170,768 dengue cases and 159,897 recoveries this year.

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
