Bangladesh has logged 9 more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning. 

At the same time, a total of 2,056 new patients were hospitalized for the disease all over the country.   

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), of the new patients, 650 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and 1,834 outside the capital.      

The number of dengue patients undergoing treatment is 7,677 across the country, said DGHS.      

So far, the DGHS has recorded 255,046 dengue cases and 246,114 recoveries this year.        

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
