Bangladesh has logged 17 more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Monday morning.   

At the same time, a total of 2,014 new patients were hospitalized for the disease all over the country.  

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), of the new patients, 454 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and 1,560 outside the capital.     

The number of dengue patients undergoing treatment is 7,589 across the country, said DGHS.     

So far, the DGHS has recorded 257,060 dengue cases and 248,199 recoveries this year.       

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
