Bangladesh logs seven more dengue deaths in 24 hrs

Bangladesh has logged seven more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning. 

At the same time, a total of 1,907 new patients were hospitalized for the disease all over the country.

The total dengue death toll this year has risen to 1,355 setting a new record in the country’s history.  

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), of the new patients, 384 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and 1,519 outside the capital.                 

The number of dengue patients undergoing treatment is 6,346 across the country, said DGHS. 

So far, the DGHS has recorded 273,078 dengue cases and 265,377 recoveries this year.      

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
