Bangladesh has logged 13 more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning.

At the same time, a total of 1,638 new patients were hospitalized for the disease all over the country.    

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), of the new patients, 430 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and 1,208 outside the capital.                 

The number of dengue patients undergoing treatment is 6,636 across the country, said DGHS.

So far, the DGHS has recorded 277,801 dengue cases and 269,772 recoveries this year.          

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
