Bangladesh has logged eight more deaths from dengue infection in the last 24 hours till Monday morning.

At the same time, a total of 920 new patients were hospitalized for the disease all over the country.

The total dengue death toll this year has reached 1,606, setting a new record in the country’s history. 

Meanwhile, the number of dengue patients undergoing treatment is 3,493 across the country, said DGHS.     

So far, the DGHS has recorded 309,087 dengue cases and 303,988 recoveries this year.          

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019.
