The European summer is a very lucrative period for anyone who wants to explore the continent. June to September is when it is considered the best time to visit most of the countries.

Right from Greece, Croatia, and Austria to Denmark and Netherlands, all these destinations are a part of Europe and you can make the most of your summer vacation to explore these beautiful countries.

1. Croatia

Located at the crossroads of Central and Southeastern Europe, Croatia is a country best visited from June to August. With a temperature set within a range of 15 to 27 degrees celsius, the climate is mildly warm and pleasant. When in Croatia, make sure you pay a visit to the 'Pearl of the Adriatic' in Dubrovnik. All the GOT fans should definitely visit Dubrovnik to see King's Landing and take the Game of Thrones Tour. You can also take a hike in Plitvice Lakes National Park, which is home to eight parks blessed with natural beauty. Spend a few days in Sibenik which is an underrated beauty in Croatia. This old beauty is made entirely out of stone and it stands strong even today thus setting an example for rock- solid traditional architecture.

2. Greece

The Greek Islands of Santorini are one of the most visited destinations. They live up to the hype with a view of its towns painted blue and white making Santorini one of the most romantic places on Earth. Visit Crete Island and get to witness the rare natural occurrence - Pink Corals. Take a romantic stroll along the pure blue waters on the white sand beach of Elafonissi. Immerse yourself completely as you visit the Greekest place in Greece - Mykonos. You will recognize the streets very well as the song sequences of Bollywood have been shot in the streets of Mykonos.

3. Netherlands

This colourful country deserves a mention because of the lively atmosphere it exudes. There's Amsterdam where you can visit the postcard-able windmills, vibrant apartments, canal houses across the bridges and more. Visit the historical brewery and taste some freshly brewed beer. Visit the renowned Amsterdam concerts, the majestic museums and shop it out at Amsterdam's flea market which is the largest of its kind in Europe. Apart from Amsterdam, Netherlands has Haarlem, Keukenhof and many more places to visit.

4. Austria

Austria; not to be mistaken with Australia, is yet another country in Europe that is best visited from June to August. The Republic of Austria was initially referred to as Ostmark. This geographically beautiful country is home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the residence of Prince Archbishops Salzburg. Apart from being breathtakingly scenic, there are plenty of museums, fortresses, palaces and places of historical significance in Austria.

5. Denmark

The best time to visit Denmark is also from June to August during which the temperature ranges from 15 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius. Being a country rich in natural wealth, there are several different things to do here! Visit the many national parks that are home to diverse animal species. Visit Grenen which is called the tip of the European mainland, and check out the museums and palaces to get more information about the country. If you're with kids (or just a kid at heart), don't forget to visit Legoland in Denmark!
