Bashundhara Shuvosangho distributed sewing machines to insolvent women on International Women's Day in Ranisankail, Thakurgaon, reports Daily Sun.

The programme was held on the premises of the Officers Club of the upazila. Sewing machine sets were distributed to 15 women who had received training.

Former MP Selina Jahan Lita, Upazila Chairman Shahriar Azam Munna, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rakibul Hasan, Municipal Mayor Mostafizur Rahman, OC of Ranishankail Police Station Sohel Rana, Shuvosangho Central Committee President Sadekul Islam were special guests, among others, in the event.

Bashundhara Shuvosangho director Zakaria Zaman, Shuvosangho Thakurgaon president Tapas Debnath, Jatiya Party president Jahangir Alam and general secretary Abu Taher, valiant freedom fighter Habibur Rahman, Press Club president Mubarak Ali and former president Kushmat Ali were present at the event.

Awareness programme on Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Dhaka University (DU) unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised women's health awareness activities and distributed sanitary napkins. A health awareness seminar with female students was held on the premises of Rokeya Hall of the DU on Friday afternoon.

At the end of the meeting, sanitary napkins were handed over to the students.

One of the students said, "Sometimes sanitary napkins are not used considering the financial aspect. Thank you for the good wishes.”

Bashundhara Shuvosango’s Dhaka University branch vice president Mashrifa Jahan Shefa, General Secretary Arby Akhtar, Joint Secretary Afia Antara Mimma, and Nawshin Mubashshira, among others, were present in the discussion.

Pathchakra held at Gafargaon

The 18th edition of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Pathchakra (Lecture) was held at Gafargaon in Mymensingh with the theme 'Liberation War in the spirit of generation'.

The function was held at the Gafargaon Press Club, with poet Shamsul Huda in the chair.

The free discussion, moderated by General Secretary of Upazila Shuvosangho Lecturer Gholam Mohammad Faruki, was addressed by member secretary of Gafargaon Sahitya Sangshad Advocate Saifus Salehin, President of a platform named 'We are Children of Freedom Fighters' at Gafargaon Upazila Sarkar Israt Ahmed Papel, son of freedom fighter Ahmed Moniruzzaman Monir, children of freedom fighters, and president of Datterbazar Union Shuvosangho Ekhlas Uddin, among others.

Written poems were recited by Harun-ur-Rashid Sarkar, Abdul Quader, Shamsul Huda, and Jannatul Nayeem Fatiha.
