If BNP comes to power, it will take initiative of military training to students and youth: Hafiz

BNP Vice-Chairman Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram expressed apprehension about the independent existence of Bangladesh under the pressure of international superpowers.

If it comes to power in such a situation, BNP will give military training to make the students into a citizen army, he said.

He said these things at a press conference after the party's 'Independence Day Celebration' committee meeting at BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan on Thursday afternoon.

Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram said, "If BNP comes to power, then initiatives will be taken to turn the students into a 'citizen army' by providing military training like South Korea and Israel and other countries. In the future, if there is a danger of the destruction of independence and sovereignty, the BNP will take initiatives so that the common people of the country can resist it. Along with the armed forces, the students and youth can also engage in the struggle.”

The BNP leader said, “One thing we are worried about at present is that Bangladesh may gradually get involved in the conflict of international powers. In Myanmar in particular, there is now an internal struggle that involves external forces. Gradually, Bangladesh may also have to get involved in a war due to the pressure of international powers.”
