Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said, "Police has played a successful role in suppressing militancy and terrorism throughout the country. Due to our hard work, militancy and terrorism are now completely under control. The police are continuing to try to control the law and order situation.
He said this to the reporters after inaugurating the newly constructed building of the city police outpost in Sunamganj Launchghat area on Friday afternoon.
The IGP also said, “The Prime Minister has increased the manpower of Bangladesh Police from time to time. She facilitated us with logistics support and necessary equipment. Through training at home and abroad, the army has been developed as a suitable army for digital Bangladesh. We are able to detect 90 percent of the cases because of the knowledge of technology.”Sylhet Range DIG Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman, SMP Police Commissioner Zakir Hossain, Sunamganj District Superintendent of Police Ehsan Shah and others were presenton the ocassion.
