The government on Sunday filed a petition with the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court seeking stay on the High Court verdict that reinstated the 30 percent quota system for the freedom fighters' children in government jobs.
Assistant Attorney General M Saiful Alam confirmed the latest development.
Mporeover, the lawyer of the stateside told the reporters that this petition application had been submitted to the relevant branch of the Supreme Court's Appellate Division.The Chamber judge of the Appellate Division may hold a hearing on the petition later in the day.
