A Dhaka court on Sunday placed police constable Kawser Ali on seven-day remand in a case filed over murder of his colleague Monirul Islam in capital’s Baridhara diplomatic zone last night. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shakil Ahammed passed the order as police produced the rogue constable before the court and pleaded to place him on 10-day remand.

The incident took place in front of the Palestine Embassy in Dhaka.

A driver working for Japanese Embassy was also injured in the firing.

Deceased’s brother Md Mahbubul Haque filed the case with Gulshan Police Station.
