Three people, including a mother and her son, have died after falling into a septic tank in Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Delowara Begum, her son Huda Mia, and Iblul Mia, son of Tobarak Hossain.

Locals said the septic tank collapsed when Delowara was collecting vegetables near it. Her son and the neighbor Iblul also fell into it while trying to rescue her.
