The students of Rajshahi University (RU) on Monday blocked the railway line with the protest march. They are conducting this movement to demand quota reform. Their blockade took place at various points including the flyover adjacent to the university on Monday.

Students are saying that they will not leave the streets until their demands are met.

Students demand that quota system announced in 2018 should be canceled and discriminatory quota should be reformed. In that case only backward communities can be considered according to the constitution. Quota facility in government job recruitment examinations is more than a mere opportunity to enjoy and if qualified candidates are not found in the quota, the vacant posts should be appointed according to merit.

Thousands of university students participated in the movement.
