Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Saturday said the students should come to the court to express their voices rather than blocking the roads.
He opined it in his speech of the chief guest at the unveiling event of the book 'Muktijudda Police: Mymensingh District Book' on Saturday around 4:30 pm.
The Home Minister said, “In 2018, the Prime Ministerremoved the quota system. Then the message is coming from the judiciary that the quota will be resumed. Our students are offended by this. In view of their demands, the Chief Justice gave a clear direction, staying the High Court's judgment. The students have been told to take their case to the higher court. Then it will be convenient for judges to judge. So I think they should wait while the Movements should be stopped. There are quotas everywhere in the world. Like we have some quota for minorities and it is also mentioned in the constitution. If the quota of these ethnic groups is removed, they will never be able to integrate into the mainstream.”He said, "Let them come to the court and speak their words instead of blocking the roads. I don't know what will be the benefit of blocking the roads. The suffering of the people will increase. I think you should come to the court as suggested by the Chief Justice and express your voices.”
