Capitalizing on students' movement, anti-state force conducts mayhem in country : Kamal

Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday said the anti-state force conducted mayhem in the country capitalizing on the students' movement.

“In the name of quota movement, those who have caused violence in the country and assisted it won’t be spared. Legal action will be taken against those involved in inciting violence in the country. Students did not sabotage the quota reform movement in the country; rather BNP-Jamaat-Jangi carried out this violence together,” he said.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at an exchange meeting with law enforcement forces and public representatives organized at Rangpur District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium on Thursday afternoon. Earlier, the minister visited Tajhat police station, Begum Rokeya University VC's residence, DB office, district-metropolitan Awami League office and family planning office in Rangpur.

The Home Minister said, “Those who are anti-independence are the ones who have carried out the rampage across the country. They killed Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in his own family in 1975. They turned the students-led quota reform movement into a violent movement. They attacked several police stations in Dhaka including Tajhat in Rangpur. Our place of pride has been burnt by destroying BTV and Metrorail. People know who has supported this movement from remaining behind. It is the anti-independence force whi who fueled Bangladesh to become a dysfunctional country. The people of the country were shocked by their sabotage. All forces including our patriotic police, BGB and Ansar faced this movement with patience.”

He also said that all the demands of the students' quota reform movement have been accepted. Still, the miscreants carried out destructive activities. The attack was carried out targeting the police. The Jamaat-BNP who sponsored the militancy of ‘Bangla Bhai’ has done the same again. We will use all our power to identify each of them and bring them to justice. We will resist them together.”
