Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam, the coordinators of anti-discrimination student movement, have announced to continue the movement again after coming out of the custody of the Police (DB).

Hasnat Abdullah gave this information in a post on his Facebook ID on Thursday afternoon.

“Our liberation will be complete only when the last person arrested in this movement is released. These mass arrests are not only a deprivation of the rights of innocent people, but a reflection of a brutality inflicted on our entire society. This is a terrible blow to free speech and human rights. Our movement is not only for the liberation of individuals, but also against discrimination, oppression, mass arrests and student torture. Our movement will continue till the last person arrested in this movement is released.”

Sarjis Alam, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, gave a status on the social media Facebook after being freed.

After his release, Sarjis wrote on Facebook: "You promised not to arrest anyone from the agitating students, not to harass them with cases. You didn't kept your words. You have attacked my university teachers, charged battons over my school and college fellows all over the country. They sent whoever he wanted to jail. If they could not find the agitator, they took the brother from the house and threatened the father. Mashroor is an example.

“Since this path is the path of truth, the path of justice, we are not at all hesitated to face anything as long as Bangladesh becomes a safe haven for the protesters and Mass arrests, oppression, torture are stopped; until then, this fight will continue.”

Earlier on Thursday afternoon, six coordinators of the 'anti-discrimination student movement' were handed over to their families by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Intelligence Department (DB).
