JCD recalls its leaders, activists killed in anti-discrimination movement

Jatiyotabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) staged a sit-in programme for the second straight day on Thursday in the capital, demanding the trial of Sheikh Hasina and others involved in killing of students and mass people during nationwide anti-discrimination student movement.

In the programme held at the Central Shaheed Minar, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib remembered the victims who were killed in police firing during nationwide anti-discrimination student movement, reports BSS.

Besides, the students recited poems and songs during the sit-in programme.

Rakib, in his address, said they would not allow any evil politics on the campuses. They also would not allow anyone to do politics of capturing halls on the campuses, he added.

He said the terrorists of Chhatra League in guise of general students, are now demanding the ban of student politics on the campuses. "We will unmask them," he added.

Chhatra Dal general secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir said Sheikh Hasina and those who tried to resist democratic movement of opposition parties cruelly will be tried.

He said Chhatra Dal will work on every campus in favour of students as the student wing will be voice of common students and an organization for establishing discipline and justice on campuses.
