BNP expressed a strong condemnation to the planned and cowardice attack that was carried out at the East-West Media Group office in Bashundhara Residential Area in Dhaka on Monday.
“A group of miscreants forcibly entered the East-West Media Group building, attacking with sticks and rods, causing a huge amount of damage,” BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said in a statement issued on Monday night, Daily Sun reports.
Interior decoration, furniture, computers, AC and other equipment were damaged in the attack at the media house, which houses the offices of Bangladesh Pratidin, Kaler Kantho, Daily Sun, banglanews24, News24 Channel, T-Sports, and Capital FM Radio.Claiming that the miscreants went on such vandalism with a motive, Rizvi said the attack was carried out by evil forces to hinder the smooth journey of the march toward democracy and to create confusion in the people’s minds.
BNP expressed its strong condemnation and demanded punishment of the people involved in the attack.
Besides, Bangladesh Crime Reporters’ Association (CRAB) in a statement also expressed its condemnation of the attack and urged the authorities concerned to take legal action against the people involved in the attack.
