Three people were killed by miscreants at Boro Ghagutia village in Homna upazila of Cumilla on Wednesday night.
The deceased were identified as Mahmuda Begum, 35, wife of Shah Paran, her son Shahab Uddin, 9 and niece Tisha Akter, 14.
Homna Police Station Officer-in-Charge Joynal Abedin said local people found the bodies of the trio lying on the bed and informed police on Thursday morning.On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to Cumilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police suspected that miscreants swooped on the house on Wednesday night and strangled Mahmuda, Shahab and Tisha dead.
The bodies bore injury marks on their heads, he added.
