Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted that rainfall is likely to increase and temperature may fall in the next five days since 9am on Saturday.
“Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur division with moderately heavy falls at places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” said a Met office bulletin on Saturday morning in a forecast for next 24 hours, reports UNB.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the period.Country’s highest rainfall was recorded at 96 mm in Sandwip in Chattogram district till 9am today.
The low over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay is likely to intensify.
The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
