My father's killers won’t be forgiven: Masud Sayedee

Masud Sayedee, son of the late Jamaat-e-Islami leader and renowned Islamic orator Delawar Hossain Sayeedi, declared that his father’s killers, along with those responsible for oppression and killings over the past 17 years, will not be forgiven, reports Daily Sun.

Speaking at a workers' rally of Jamaat-e-Islami in the Shankharikathi Union of Nazirpur upazila in Pirojpur on Friday, he demanded justice for the perpetrators, particularly those who celebrated his father's death sentence

However, he also noted that those who aligned with the Awami League under duress to protect personal assets, businesses, or jobs will be granted general amnesty.

Masud Sayedee remarked, "The Awami League was born out of murder. Sheikh Mujib, in 1964, killed Shahid Ali, Speaker of the Provincial Assembly, by striking him with a chair in the assembly. The Awami League's history is one of killings. In Pilkhana, Dhaka, they murdered 57 proud officers of the Bangladesh Army, a tragedy unmatched even in war."

He further added that, in 2013, the so-called "kangaroo tribunal" sentenced his father in a false case, sparking nationwide protests. "In response to that uprising, 300 people were killed under the orders of 'murderous' Hasina," Masud Sayedee said.

He said, “On 5 May 2013, Hefazat-e-Islam rally at Shapla Chattar, where thousands of Islamic scholars gathered demanding justice against atheists, brutally massacred under Hasina's regime following Indian directives. Hasina's hands are stained with the blood of thousands."
