Allah, the omniscience, source of all knowledge

Ali Osman Shefayet

Allah, the omniscience, source of all knowledge

The knowledge of human is limited, which doesn’t make way for taking right decisions in all matters. It leads to both right and wrong directions. About the limitation of human knowledge, the creator of the world said, “I’ve created you with very limited knowledge.’ (Surah Bony Israel, verse 85)

The key to infinite knowledge reservoir

Allah is almighty as well as the source of all the knowledge. Hence, the key to infinite wisdom is in the hands of Allah. He said, “He does whatever he wishes and without his will none can have any one his infinite wisdom…” (Surah Bakara, Verse 255)

The scientists and wise people across the world make research and new discoveries using the things created by almighty Allah.

The characteristic name of Allah Ta’ala is 'Aleem' which means Allah has great knowledge. Almighty Allah is Noor Mutlaq i.e. a being who is completely Noor or light. So, all his qualities are enlightened. Knowledge is also a light sourced from Allah.

And the person who acquired knowledge, he got a large part of the heritage of the Prophets. Allah's announcement - He is the only knower of the unseen. He does not reveal His knowledge of the Unseen to anyone except His chosen Messenger. Then he appointed guards in front and behind the Messenger.' (Surah Jinn, verses: 26-27)

we don't know, but Allah knows

Due to the limitation of knowledge, it is not proper for the wise, virtuous, scientists and researchers of this world to boast about their knowledge.

"We don't know anything" - this is what all the wise men and scientists of the world are saying today.

Where there is the tone of the imperfection of human knowledge, even with knowledge-intelligence-research, people are never able to grasp the eternally unknown and eternally invincible. As it moves forward, the target moves further away. That's why so much emptiness or lack of knowledge! That's why so much moaning. Therefore, Allah Almighty told him to pray for knowledge, "O my Lord, increase my knowledge." (Surah Taha, verse: 114)

Human knowledge compared to Allah’s knowledge

It is mentioned in Sahih Bukhari that during a conversation between Musa (a.s.) and Khizr (a.s.), a bird came and drank water from the sea with its beak (lips) in relation to the question: Who is the wisest of mankind? Seeing that, Khizir (a.s.) said, 'By Allah, my knowledge and your knowledge compared to the knowledge of Allah is not more than the amount of water that this bird has raised in its beak (lips) from the sea.' (Subhanallah).

If this is the knowledge of God's chosen servants, then we who are ordinary people, bragging about knowledge, how little knowledge do we possess?

No matter how modern the age

No matter how modern this age of science and technology is, no matter how sharp the thinking and research, it is not possible to gain the knowledge of salvation in the hereafter through logic and dogma, and logic says its also not possible. For this, it is necessary to follow the rules of the All-Wise Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, the guidelines of knowledge and science, described in the Al-Quran, following the path indicated by the Messenger (PBUH). Knowledge will then be fulfilled through direct experience. In the heart then the light of knowledge of modern Islam will shine brightly. The essence of Iman and Ekin is that it is through obedience to Allah that the Siratul Mustaqeem or the straight path of knowledge can be found, not through reasoning. Cosmic radiations, electrons-protons, sub-atoms, best creations, human organs, souls, human creations and universes— think and contemplate about these! You will see the vast world of nature full of stunning Mojeja (Miracle)!

Good news for knowledge seekers

The person who did not get knowledge, what did he get? What is left for the person who has acquired knowledge? If you become destitute, knowledge will be your wealth. And if you become rich, then knowledge will be your adornment, which will not make you forget the remembrance of Allah. The wise and the foolish are never equal. It has been said, "The visible and the invisible are not equal, darkness and light are not equal, shadow and sunshine are not equal." (Surah Fatir, verses 19, 20, 21)

Knowledge and wisdom are lost wealth of the believer

Knowledge and wisdom are for all. Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said, 'Education is obligatory for every Muslim.' Allah Almighty said, Ikra, then He said for all people to acquire knowledge through reading and research. The believing servant is the caliph of Allah. Knowledge and wisdom are needed to establish a caliphate in the world. It is never possible to become like Imam Al-Ghazali, Hafiz, Rumi, Sheikh Saadi, Iqbal, Ibn Sina, Al-Kemi, Jaber Al-Hayan, Al-Razi, Imam Bukhari, Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Imam Shafeei etc. by being behind in knowledge and science. In this transition of Islam, Muslims must overcome hundreds of thousands of obstacles and grasp the batton of Allah with all their strength and move forward in knowledge and science. Science will complement faith and make religious faith stronger. The more the science progresses, the more the thought expands, the more clear the knowledge of the scientific Qur'an becomes.

Useful and specialized knowledge

The useful knowledge and special knowledge contained in the pages of the Qur'an, in the words of the Prophet (PBUH), the Companions, the Tabeeen, the ideals of the Tabe-Tabeeen, in the wonderful creation of Allah, in the various books of the wise men of Allah. It strengthens faith and opens the door to intellectual research. It is useful and special knowledge for all people of the world. It has been said, 'He gives special knowledge to whom He wills, and to whom special knowledge is given, he is given a great boon. Only those who take advice are those who have knowledge.' (Surah Baqarah, verse 269)

Finally, I conclude with the declaration of Almighty Allah Rabbul Alamin, "Over every wise man there is a Wise One (Allah)." (Surah Yusuf, verse 76)
