Popular Tollywood actors Rituparna Sengupta, Yash Dasgupta and Nussrat Jahan are set to work together for the first time in an upcoming social thriller titled ‘Shikarr’.
The actors are currently busy with different projects in Mumbai and are excited to be back in their home ground for the exciting project, which will be directed by Kolkata and Mumbai-based director Debraj Sinha, reports Times of India.
‘Shikarr’is set in a place called Shantipur where local messiah Dev (Yash) is a flamboyant character who rides around town helping young and old. The people of Shantipur worship him like a hero and women are crazy about him. Agni (Rituparna) is a single mother who gets posted as a government official in the town and soon gets embroiled in a controversy that makes her come face to face with Dev. What happens next forms the crux of the story.Nussrat Jahan will also be seen in a significant role in the film. She will be essaying the character of the spunky Jinia, adding a sense of relief to the serious thriller plot.
Expressing his reaction Yash said, “I'm happy to be working with Ritu di for the first time and found the storyline very unique. I'm still in the process of reading the script etc. We plan to go on the shooting floor soon and seek blessings from our audience.”
