Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested singer Nobel in a fraud case on Saturday.
A high official of DB police confirmed this arrest.
He said Nobel has been brought to DB office. He is being interrogated in connection with many accusations brought against him, reports Daily Sun.Sources said he was arrested for not performing a programme after taking advance Tk 1.72 lakh.
Md Safaet Islam, a student of Bhedarganj Headquarter Pilot Govt High School in Shariatpur, filed the case against Nobel on May 16 last and court accepted the case next day and ordered police to submit report on July 9.
According to the case, Bhedarganj Headquarter Pilot Govt High School organised a reunion for SSC-2016 batch on April 28. Ahead of the occasion, an agreement of Tk 1.75 lakh was signed with Nobel.
The singer was also paid the money through bank. But he embezzled the money without performing the programme.
Earlier, another fraud case was filed against the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa famed singer with Kotwali Police Station for not attending a programme despite taking advance money.
