AL alliance parties waiting

Awami League announced candidates for 298 constituencies in the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections without allocating any constituencies to the alliance parties.

There is intense discussion about what will happen to these leaders of the alliance. Participating leaders say that the 14-party meeting will give a glimpse of how constituencies will be shared. So now the leaders of the alliance parties are waiting for the decision of the leader of the alliance Sheikh Hasina.

According to sources, Kushtia-2 constituency kept vacant for Jasad President Hasanul Haque Inu and Narayanganj-5 constituency for Jatiya Party's AKM Salim Osman.

Awami League's candidate has been given the constituency of Rashed Khan Menon, the president of another major partner of the alliance Workers' Party. Awami League announced candidates for 230 constituencies leaving 70 seats vacant in the last parliamentary election for other alliance partners.

In this regard, Rashed Khan Menon told Bangladesh Pratidin, “We are waiting for the meeting of the 14-party alliance regarding the decision of the election in alliance. This meeting will be held soon.”

“Awami League said they will sit with 14 parties any day after the candidate announcement. You can see what happens after the meeting, nothing can be said before the meeting. The date of the meeting has not been fixed yet.”

When asked about the fact that Awami League has not nominated candidates for two constituencies, but has nominated candidates for your constituency, he replied, “I know that the candidate has announced, I don't know anything more than that, I can't say. We are waiting for the meeting of the alliance.”

The Workers' Party has finalized candidates for 30 constituencies in the upcoming National Parliament elections. The convener of the central media department of the Workers' Party, Mustafa Alamgir, said earlier that those who will be elected in coalition within the party will fight with the boat symbol. And the rest of the candidates will compete with the party symbol hammer.

Jatiya Party (JP) secretary and former minister Sheikh Shahidul Islam said, "We announced the election with the boat symbol. Awami League has announced the party's nomination for 298 constituencies. But this is not the end. The alliance leaders will meet with Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. There will be a final decision. Apart from this, many people of JP are choosing with our party symbol except the boat.”

Hasanul Haque Inu said, “Whether there is an opposition alliance or not, whether BNP comes to the election or not, 14 parties will hold elections in a united manner.”
