Lankans start batting targeting 184 against tigers

Bangladesh batters have set the target 184 for 7 in 20 overs to Sri Lanka in do or die match in Asia Cup to reach the super four in Dubai on Thursday.

Mehidy Hasan, promoted to open, gave Bangladesh a flying start but Sri Lanka fought back with wickets in the middle overs. The opening batter scored 38 runs off 26 balls.

Afif then came on and took the game by the scruff of the neck and slammed his way to a 22-ball 39, giving impetus to the innings and Mosaddek carried forward that momentum to take Bangladesh past the 180-mark.

Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva and Chamika Karunaratne bagged two wickets each for 41 and 32 runs respectively.

Debutant Asitha Fernando is the most expensive bowler who bagged 1 wicket for 51 runs.
