Open-deck bus being prepared for Tigresses

Dhaka is now waiting for the return of the national heroes as BFF (Bangladesh Football Federation) prepares for a celebration. An open-deck BRTC bus is being prepared to greet the national heroes.

Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) started preparing an open-deck bus in order to greet the newly crowned champions. They began taking off the roof of a double-decker bus at its Motijheel depot this morning. The work is supposed to be finished by today. Bangladesh women's team is expected to return on Wednesday (September 21).

Earlier on Monday, Bangladesh women's team defeated Nepal 3-1 in the tournament's 6th edition final to win their first-ever SAFF Championship title.

The entire nation rejoiced after Tigresses’ historic victory on Monday evening, reports UNB.

Bangladesh defeated Nepal in the championship match, with Shamsunnahar scoring the game's first goal with a superb lobby from the near post in the 13th minute. Krishna Rani Sarkar scored the final two goals for Bangladesh in the 42nd and 77th minutes, respectively.

Many Bangladeshi supporters partied late into the night. Praises have poured in for Sabina, Krishna, Sanjida, Rupna, and the rest of the team on social media platforms. Many national dignitaries have praised the women's team for this remarkable accomplishment.

Hours after the women team's historic triumph, Zahid Ahsan Russell, minister of sports and state minister for youth and sports, told media that the heroes would be honoured with an open-top bus victory parade once they return home. An open-top bus will pick up the footballers from the airport. Following that, they would be brought to Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) premises. Zahid Ahsan Russell confirmed while speaking to media on Monday night.
