Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 3 runs to confirm semifinals

Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 3 runs, in the low-scoring and bowlers-dominated match of Women’s Asia Cup held in Sylhet on Monday.

Winning the toss Bangladesh chose to bowl first. Sri Lankan batters struggled from the very beginning and scored 83 for 5 when rain came.

Nilakshi de Silva was the top scorer for them who hits 28 of 31 balls. Rumana Ahmed took 2 wickets for 14 for Bangladesh.  

Rain spoiled the match-time and when the game resumes after the rain Bangladesh’s revised target according to D-L method was 41 in 7 overs.

However, Bangladesh batters struggled more than that of Lankans and able to manage 37 for 7 in stipulated 7 overs.

Only Nigar Sultana managed to go in double figure, as she scored 12 of 11 balls.

Sril Lanka’s Inoka Ranaweera brought havoc in BD batting line up by grabbing 4 wickets for just 7 runs.
