Underdog Ireland defeated West Indies by 9 wickets in First Round Group B match of ICC Men's T20 World Cup on Friday.

This huge upset took place at Bellerive Oval Stadium of Hobart in Australia.

Winning the toss, West Indies elected to bat first. Tight bowling from Irish bowlers restricted them under 150. A good innings from Brandon King of 62 of 48 balls took them to 146 for 5.

Ireland’s Gareth Delany took 3 wickets for just 16 runs in his full quota of 4 overs.

In reply, astonishing everyone Irish batters shone from the very beginning as bothe their openers got a flying start.

Experienced opener Paul Starling hammered 66 off 48 balls, while one-dwon batter Lorcan Tucker scored 45 from 35. Both of them remained unbeaten to took Ireland to the target.

For his brilliant bowling performance, Delany was judged Player of the Match.
