Put to bat first, Australia faced as early blow as Barry McCarthy scalped the wicket of David Warner but Aaron Finch held the innings and took the team's total to 179/5 in 20 overs.

For Ireland, Lorcan Tucker stood as the last hope as he smashed an unbeaten 71 off 48 balls.

Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, and Adam Zampa took two-wickets each for Australia.

Aaron Finch has become the player of the match.
