Sri Lanka cricketer Danushka Gunathilaka, who was with the national squad for T20 World Cup in Australia, has been arrested on charges of sexual assault.
Sri Lanka team sources said on Sunday, reports NDTV.
According to the sources, Gunathilaka was arrested and taken to Sydney City police station in the wee hours of Sunday following an investigation into alleged sexual assault of a woman on November 2.Meanwhile, Sri Lankan team has left Australia without Gunathilaka.
The New South Wales police, on its website said, a 29-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted at a residence in Rose Bay earlier this week by Gunathilaka.
