Bashundhara Kings win record-extending 5th BPL title

Bashundhara Kings claimed their fifth Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) title in a row after beating Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd by 2-1 goals in their 15th match of the ongoing ABG Bashundhara BPL 2023-24 at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Saturday.

With the day’s win, the defending champions moved to 40 points on the top of the standings and confirmed the title with three games left by extending the point differences with second-placed Mohammedan and third-placed Abahani Ltd Dhaka to 12 and 14 respectively.

Brazilian midfielder Dorielton Nascimento scored a brace in the 19th and 52nd minutes that sealed the fate of the match while midfielder Minhajur Abedin Rakib scored one in the 66th minute that reduced the margin for Mohammedan.
