The preliminary round of 48th National Chess Championship began from Saturday at Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF).

A total of 123 selected players from Dhaka Metropolises, Divisions, Districts, Universities, forces and other affiliated organisation are participating in the event, BSS reported.

The five-day meet, organised by BCF, is being held in nine round Swiss-League system and top fifteen players will qualify in the 48th National B Chess Championship which will be held at later stage.
