Afghanistan, being truly amazing in T20 format cricket, defeated Australia by 21 runs in Men T20 World Cup 2024.
In the match held in Kingstown on Sunday, the ‘underdog’ scored 148 for 6 thanks to brilliant batting show of the openers, where Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 60 from 49 balls and Ibrahim Zadran made 51 off 48.
In reply, Australia struggled from the very beginning and lost 3 for 32 at one stage. However, they fought back with 59 of Glen Maxwell off 41 balls.After that none could contribute notable runs and the awestruck Australia bundled out at just 127 runs.
Gulbadin Naib took 4 wickets for Afghanistan for 20 runs and judged player of the match.
