Bashundhara Kings wants to host their AFC Challenge League group matches

Bashundhara Kings are the first football club to have their own home venue in South Asia where international matches are also being held frequently. Although football tournaments are held overwhelmingly in India, no club has its own venue so far. The Bangladeshi club Bashundhara Kings does not want to stop here. World Cup Qualifiers or AFC Cup matches were held here as home venues. Now, they eyes are on organizing the entire tournament.

The AFC Challenge League group stage will begin next October. A draw will be held to determine the groupings of the tournament in August. At the same time, the name of the host and venue will also be announced. Bangladesh champions Bashundhara Kings want to host their group games at Kings Arena.

Bashundhara Kings president Imrul Hassan in this regard said, "We want to organize the group games in the AFC Challenge League. We will appeal to AFC to take responsibility. Applications must be made by the last week of July. We will submit our application before that. Hope AFC will agree after everything is taken into consideration. King's Arena has hosted FIFA-sanctioned friendlies, World Cup qualifiers and AFC Cup international matches. Here we have the compliments of AFC. So, we’re optimistic.”
